Announcing New Associate Attorney Ryan J. Armentrout

Armentrout brings a wealth of information and numerous abilities to our firm that ultimately better us as a legal team.

Learn More About Ryan J. Armentrout

Ryan is a native of Yakima, Washington, and graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Philosophy. Prior to attending Gonzaga Law School, Ryan taught English in Japan for two years. While in law school, he worked at the school’s legal clinic where he assisted entrepreneurs as they sought to start their own businesses.

His next step in his legal career was to become an intern as a Rule 9 limited practice attorney at Salina, Sanger & Gauper. There, he developed his skills in handling family and property law issues. He was also active in moot court where he was a member of the Moot Court Honors Council. Ryan competed in the Albert R. Mugel National Tax Moot Court Competition, where he won the following awards:

  • Award for Best Brief
  • First place overall

He also won the Linden Cup Appellate Advocacy Competition based on his oral argument which was presented to Justices of the Washington and Idaho Supreme Courts.

After graduating from law school, he returned to the University of Washington where he graduated with an LLM in tax law in 2011. He then worked at two different locations before joining Hess Injury Law in 2014 as an associate attorney.

Author Bio

Peter J. Hess grew up in Walla Walla, Washington. He is a 1996 graduate of Walla Walla High School and a 2000 graduate of the University of Washington, with a B.A. in Business Administration/Information Systems.

Peter graduated from Willamette University College of Law, with honors, in 2007. While at Willamette, he was an Associate Editor of the Willamette Law Review, he was a Teacher’s Assistant for a Legal Research and Writing professor, and he worked as a Personal Injury Law Clerk at Swanson, Lathen, Alexander & McCann in Salem, Oregon. After graduation from Willamette, Peter began working here at Hess Injury Law. In 2012, he became a partner in the firm. He is licensed to practice law in both Washington and Oregon.
